Assessment
The tour was fine. It was pretty informative since we had found some interesting facts that were new to us like how small the studios really were and how movie magic really exists. We could easily relate to the different operation done at TOC since some of them were pretty simple and the processes were explained by the managers really well. For the transmitting side, we could totally see the application of the theories we have learned in class. It's actually easier to understand the concepts when you get to see it up front.
The facilities, I could say were fine too since they do their job sufficiently, although I see a lot of room for improvement. But then again, why fix something that isn't broken? Their studios aren't used to their full potential since some are just used for storage, which I feel is such a waste. Technical wise, I think they're doing their best to migrate to new technology, striving for a tapeless workflow, which would then result in the total removal of tape material. It would lessen items in inventory and the sharing of material would be easier when their network connections are done correctly.

Recommendations
Although there are a lot of issues they could address and a lot of areas they can improve on, I believe that their efforts should first focus on their transition to the digital format and their transition to digitized media. The deadline set by NTC is fast approaching and they have to be ready for the total migration of Philippine broadcasting to Digital Format. They believe they can accomplish it but it's going to take a lot of time, money and money. Hehe. And the total digitization of their material would make it more cost effective for the production of different programs and storage saving (physical). Of course they would have to invest in larger data storage systems if they plan to archive all their media.
